Sainsbury's is seeking a Hygiene Manager for its 24/7 distribution centre at Hams Hall, Birmingham. You will oversee cleaning operations, lead a team, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and manage relationships with the client and service providers.

The role requires strong facilities management experience in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Formación

• Experience in Facilities Management across Soft Services, preferably in a fast-paced distribution/retail setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of managing and developing teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Solid knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH.
• Background in Hygiene/Cleaning Management and full UK driving licence.

Position: Hygiene Manager - Distribution Centre

Location: Hams Hall, Birmingham B46 1AL

Salary: £35,000 per annum, rising to £36,000 after successful probation

Hours: 40 Hours per Week | 5 days out of 7 | Monday-Friday Generally | Flexibility for weekend work, where necessary

Job Purpose:

Our client, a national soft facilities management leader, is recruiting a Hygiene Manager to oversee operations within a high-profile, 24/7 distribution centre at Sainsbury's Hams Hall, Birmingham B46 1AL

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate company values and lead by example at all times
• Act as the primary interface between the client and service providers on a day-to-day basis
• Manage and develop a team, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, and compliance
• Monitor and report on Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), both internally and externally
• Oversee financial performance, ensuring services are delivered within agreed budgets
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency
• Ensure all cleaning operations meet required standards, policies, and client expectations
• Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication

Experience Requirements:

• Proven Facilities Management experience across Soft Services, ideally within a fast-paced distribution or retail environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience managing and developing teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel
• Sound knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH
• Demonstrable background in Hygiene/Cleaning Management
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, due to early start requirements
