Job summary

FBC UK – Livingston bakery is seeking a Hygiene Supervisor to lead site hygiene, ensuring cleanliness, safety and compliance across the plant. You will develop cleaning schedules, supervise the hygiene team, and collaborate with operations to integrate hygiene into planning cycles.

You will oversee pest control, train staff, and drive continuous improvement while managing the Hygiene budget within the Technical Department.

Qualifications

• Experience in a comparable Hygiene Supervisor role, ideally within an FMCG environment.
• IOSH qualification or currently working towards it.
• Level 3 Food Safety qualification is desirable.
• Track record of maintaining high hygiene standards across a site.
• Genuine passion for hygiene and food safety.
• Experience collaborating with third‑party service providers.
• Proven ability to work with Health, Safety & Environment teams to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain cleaning schedules and documentation across the Bakery.
• Provide leadership and support to the Hygiene Team and wider Operations teams.
• Collaborate with Operations and Plant Planning to integrate hygiene into planning cycles.
• Define and oversee pest control to maintain sanitary working conditions.
• Champion initiatives to strengthen hygiene culture across the Bakery.
• Stay updated with hygiene and pest control techniques and improve practices.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, customer requirements, codes of practice, and certifications; train staff.
• Build relationships with hygiene suppliers and contractors, driving continuous improvement.
• Lead continuous improvement to elevate cleaning methods, standards and efficiency.
• Manage the hygiene budget within the Technical Department.
