Job summary

Synergi Recruitment is seeking a Senior Hygiene Manager for a global frozen bakery leader. The role is based on a busy FMCG site in the UK, focusing on food safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 8–10 years in manufacturing hygiene, an advanced Food Hygiene qualification and strong HACCP/COSHH knowledge. You will lead audits, manage budgets, and collaborate with Operations, Technical, Engineering and Health & Safety teams.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
• At least five years leading hygiene operations.
• Advanced Food Hygiene qualification.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP principles, COSHH and food safety legislation.
• Proven leadership, people development and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the hygiene team, driving food safety and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement hygiene strategies, cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures.
• Ensure compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, retailer standards and food safety legislation.
• Lead audits with customers, regulators and third parties; drive corrective actions.
• Oversee environmental compliance, waste management and pest control programmes.
• Monitor hygiene KPIs and implement preventative improvements.
• Manage budgets, resources, contractors and suppliers; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Technical, Engineering and Health & Safety teams.
• Report hygiene performance and improvement initiatives to site leadership.
