Job summary

Fox's Burton's Companies (FBC) UK in Livingston is seeking a Hygiene Supervisor to lead site hygiene, ensuring cleanliness, safety and regulatory compliance across the bakery. You will drive hygiene standards, train staff, and collaborate with Operations to integrate hygiene into planning.

You will manage pest control, stay current with industry practices, and influence improvements while maintaining the hygiene budget within the Technical Department.

Qualifications

• Experience as Hygiene Supervisor or similar, ideally in FMCG.
• IOSH qualification or working towards it.
• Level 3 Food Safety qualification desirable.
• Track record of delivering high hygiene standards across a site.
• Genuine passion for hygiene and food safety.
• Experience collaborating with third-party service providers.
• Experience working with Health, Safety & Environment teams for compliance and risk control.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills; confident at all levels.
• Proactive, results-driven; able to deliver in tight timeframes.
• Self-motivated; able to work autonomously and take ownership.
• Excellent time-management and ability to juggle priorities.
• Relationship-driven with cross-functional collaboration.
• Flexible with working hours/days to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust cleaning schedules and documentation across the Bakery.
• Provide strong leadership, guidance, and support to the Hygiene Team and wider Operations teams.
• Collaborate closely with Operations and Plant Planning to ensure hygiene processes are integrated into planning cycles.
• Define and oversee pest control activities to maintain safe, sanitary working conditions across the site.
• Champion and support initiatives that strengthen hygiene culture throughout the Bakery.
• Stay up to date with emerging hygiene and pest control techniques and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure full compliance with legislation, customer requirements, partner codes of practice, and certification standards; provide hygiene training for all employees.
• Build strong relationships with hygiene suppliers and contractors; set expectations and drive improvements.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to elevate cleaning methods, standards, and efficiency.
• Manage the hygiene budget within the Technical Department.
