Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Hygiene Chargehand to support our hygiene operation in a busy food manufacturing environment. The role involves supervising the hygiene team, coordinating daily cleaning tasks, and ensuring compliance with hygiene procedures.

The ideal candidate is reliable, organised, and confident leading a team with a hands-on approach. Previous experience in industrial hygiene, cleaning, or food manufacturing would be advantageous.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Hygiene Chargehand to support our hygiene operation within a busy food manufacturing environment.

Working Monday to Friday, you will support the Hygiene Management Team with the day-to-day supervision of the hygiene team, helping to ensure cleaning standards, safety requirements and hygiene procedures are consistently maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting and supervising the hygiene team during the shift
• Allocating and checking daily cleaning tasks
• Ensuring cleaning schedules are completed to the required standard
• Carrying out hygiene inspections and escalating any issues
• Ensuring safe working practices and site procedures are followed
• Supporting training and development of hygiene operatives
• Completing relevant cleaning and compliance documentation
• Working closely with the management team to deliver excellent hygiene standards

We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised, confident leading a team and happy to take a hands-on approach. Previous experience within industrial hygiene, cleaning or food manufacturing would be advantageous.
