Job summary

Hydromarque, based in Peterborough, is seeking a Sales Applications Engineer to handle technical enquiries, select and develop the right solution, and convert it into clear quotations and proposals. The role is office-based with potential site visits after training.

You will engage with customers, understand their needs, and provide sound engineering advice within a small, autonomous team that sits within the WTR Group. A strong background in hydraulics is essential.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in hydraulics or a closely related environment.
• Clear, professional communication in writing and speaking.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to unpack complex requirements.
• Excellent Excel and general computer skills.
• Proactive, customer-focused approach and value-added thinking.

Responsibilities

• Talk to customers to understand their real requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
• Develop understanding of hydraulic systems and perform analyses as needed.
• Prepare accurate quotations, tenders and technical proposals.
• Guide customers through options and add value beyond selling a product.
• Collaborate with colleagues and suppliers across the group to deliver solutions.
