Job summary

Avove is seeking a Hydraulic Modeller to join our Design team. Location: Derby or Birmingham (or close by regional offices); salary £35,000 - £45,000.

You'll perform hydraulic analysis and modelling of water networks, and contribute to design calculations and technical reporting. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team, use hydraulic models to assess networks, investigate interruptions, prepare drawings and reports, and communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience, ideally progressing towards a professional qualification.
• Good knowledge of fluid mechanics, hydraulics and pressurised flow.
• Understanding of water/wastewater infrastructure design is advantageous.
• Competent with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Strong communication, organisational and report-writing skills.
• Collaborative and self-motivated, able to meet project deadlines.
• Client-focused with a strong commitment to Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Use hydraulic models to assess water networks and recommend solutions to maintain or improve performance.
• Assess network impacts and maintain water supply during commissioning activities.
• Support the civil design process, delivering cost-effective and buildable solutions.
• Use hydraulic modelling to support the planning of operational activities.
• Investigate supply interruptions and commissioning issues.
• Analyse client information and produce clear recommendations and technical reports.
• Prepare and present engineering outputs, including drawings, calculations and reports.
• Work collaboratively with clients, colleagues and key stakeholders.
