Job summary

Arup in Leeds is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to lead complex 1D/2D hydraulic modelling projects across major infrastructure programmes. You will guide multi‑disciplinary teams, ensure technical quality, and deliver robust hydrological assessments within Environment Agency, NRW and local authority contexts.

This role sits in the North Water team, offering a clear leadership path, mentoring for junior modellers, and opportunities to shape modelling strategy and outputs that feed economic

Qualifications

1D/2D hydraulic modelling for flood risk and water infrastructure.
Experience with major UK frameworks (EA, NRW, NRW).
Ability to integrate modelling with appraisal, economics and design teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and assure hydraulic modelling workstreams across major programmes.
Provide technical sign-off on modelling outputs at senior level (G6).
Oversee scopes, schedules, and budgets for modelling packages.
Mentor junior modellers and contribute to internal capability building.
Present outputs to diverse audiences and support bid activity.
