Job summary

AZTRUM in Cardiff is seeking a Hydraulic Modeller with Flood Modeller and Tuflow experience to join our UK-based consultancy.

You will work on complex hydraulic modelling, flood risk assessments, GIS mapping and hydrology work, liaising with private sector clients and Local Authorities. Hybrid working, a competitive salary and benefits package are on offer. A strong maths background and interest in climate change are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background including A levels in Maths.
• Experience with UK flood risk assessments and hydraulic modelling.
• Knowledge of climate change, flood risk modelling and drainage engineering.

Responsibilities

• Complex hydraulic modelling and model build using Flood Modeller and Tuflow.
• Flood risk assessments, flood consequence assessments, nutrient neutrality assessments.
• Hydrological assessments.
• Natural flood management, wetland management and re-wilding projects.
• Flood risk mapping and estimation.
• Hydrology chapters for EIAs.
• GIS mapping.
• Model development.
• Liaise with private sector clients and Local Authorities to develop new opportunities and ensure projects are delivered to time and budget.

Are you a Hydraulic Modeller who has Tuflow and Flood Modeller experience? Would you like to join a supportive team based in Cardiff?

Candidates are required to have a strong academic background (including A levels in Maths) and experience working for a UK based Consultancy specialising in flood risk assessments and hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller and Tuflow. It is also beneficial for applicants to reside in the UK and have a keen interest in climate change, flood risk modelling and drainage engineering.

• Hydrological assessments.
