Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Modeller in London to lead hydraulic modelling efforts for flood risk assessments across property, renewable energy, and aviation sectors. The role involves developing strategies from feasibility to planning submissions and communicating constraints to stakeholders.

The candidate should bring 4+ years of hydraulic modelling experience, proficiency in Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW, GIS, and AutoCAD, and a strong understanding of flood risk

Qualifications

• At least 4 years' experience undertaking hydraulic modelling and preparing Flood Risk Assessments.
• Knowledge of flood risk policy and guidance such as the NPPF.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fluvial and pluvial hydraulic models to support flood risk assessments for developments.
• Liaise with water team and external stakeholders; evaluate flood mitigation options within masterplans; prepare reports.

Senior Hydraulic Modeller

£40,000-£50,000 per annum

A well-established leading environmental consultancy with an established team of experts, is looking for a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to expand their team further. The successful Senior Hydraulic Modeller will assist in preparing both fluvial and pluvial hydraulic models to support flood risk assessments for developments within the property, renewable energy, and aviation sectors. Working on projects including early strategy development, through to feasibility, outline design, planning submission, and discharge of conditions. You will need to liaise within the water team as well as externally, clearly communicating opportunities and constraints, be able to evaluate flood mitigation options within masterplans, and prepare reports.

Requirements for the Senior Hydraulic Modeller:

• At least 4 years' experience undertaking hydraulic modelling and preparing Flood Risk Assessments.
• Suitable knowledge of the planning system, in particular flood related policy and guidance such as the NPPF.
• Experienced in software's including Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW, GIS and AutoCAD.
• The capacity to recognise and communicate flood risk related constraints and opportunities at development sites.
• Knowledge of liaising with the EA, fully understanding their model review process and modelling requirements.
• The full right to work in the UK
• A full UK driving licence
• Live in or near Reading
