Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to join our growing team in Reading, Brighton, Leeds, Edinburgh or Warrington. You will develop your technical skills across hydraulic modelling and analysis while delivering sustainable water and wastewater projects for UK clients.

You will work with experienced engineers, contribute to project lifecycles, and grow through mentoring and hands-on project experience in a national hydraulic engineering team.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering or related discipline.
• Interest in developing a career within hydraulic engineering and the UK water sector.
• Understanding of fluid mechanics and hydraulic principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of hydraulic studies, calculations and technical assessments.
• Develop and analyse hydraulic models using software such as HADES, VARISM, Flow-3D or equivalent.
• Assist with steady state and transient analysis, pumping system assessments and hydraulic investigations.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams, clients and project stakeholders.
• Support site investigations, design reviews and project delivery activities.
• Develop technical capability through mentoring, training and hands-on project experience.
