Job summary

Neos Networks is seeking an experienced Transmission Design Engineer to shape and support transmission networks across the UK. You will design, enhance and deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions working with engineering and project teams.

This permanent, full-time role offers hybrid working (2–3 days in the office) with locations Reading, Havant or Glasgow. Salary ranges from £55,000 to £69,000 DOE plus a performance-related bonus, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecoms infrastructure and network design.
• Knowledge of SDH/PDH, Radio, Microwave, Protection relays, SCADA.
• IP LAN/WAN knowledge is a bonus.
• Understanding of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) is advantageous.
• Experience producing network schematics and BOMs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Excel and Office suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve transmission network solutions to meet requirements.
• Produce detailed designs, BOMs and technical drawings.
• Provide technical support through project lifecycle and commissioning.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Project Management.
• Analyse requirements to improve performance, resilience and scalability.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, safety and customer commitments.
