Job summary

Neos Networks is seeking an experienced Transmission Design Engineer to design, enhance and support transmission networks across the UK. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable services and contribute to critical national infrastructure projects.

Hybrid role with 2–3 days in the office, locations include Reading, Havant or Glasgow. A salary of £55,000–£69,000 depending on experience plus a performance-related bonus is offered, along with a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Experience in telecoms infrastructure and network design.
• Knowledge of transmission technologies including SDH/PDH, Radio, Microwave, Protection relays, SCADA.
• Knowledge of IP LAN/WAN is a bonus.
• Knowledge of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) is advantageous.
• Understanding of ancillary infrastructure requirements, including power and space planning.
• Experience producing technical documentation, network schematics and Bills of Materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Excel and the wider Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve transmission network solutions that meet customer and business requirements.
• Produce detailed technical designs, drawings and accurate Bills of Materials to support successful project delivery.
• Provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, supporting Project Managers during delivery and Tier 3 Operations during commissioning.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Project Management and other stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
• Analyse network requirements and identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience and scalability.
• Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards, health and safety expectations and customer commitments.
