Qualifications

• RTPI Accredited degree within town planning or related discipline.
• Relevant experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or related planning environment.
• Understanding of the UK planning system and relevant planning policy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent research, analytical and organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications.
• Undertaking research into planning policy, legislation and guidance.
• Reviewing local and national planning policies and identifying their implications for development proposals.
• Assisting with planning appraisals and development feasibility assessments.
• Supporting the preparation of planning statements, reports and other technical documents.
• Liaising with local planning authorities, consultants, clients and other stakeholders.
• Monitoring planning applications and assisting with the management of project programmes.
• Attending meetings, site visits and planning committees where appropriate.
