Job summary

STEP Fusion, part of UK Fusion Energy, seeks a Talent Development Manager to shape the people strategy for a pioneering fusion programme. You will design and deliver end‑to‑end talent and capability development to attract, onboard, engage, develop, and retain exceptional people.

You will partner with UKFE and STEP leaders, build career frameworks, lead leadership development, and drive an inclusive culture aligned with our mission and values.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 7 or equivalent qualification with 5–7 years in a relevant function.
• Proven track record leading talent development or organisational development functions within complex, delivery‑focused organisations.
• Strong experience designing and embedding career and capability frameworks, onboarding programmes, and leadership development pathways.
• Strategic thinker with ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate in ambiguity.
• Passion for culture‑building to support a long‑term, mission‑led purpose.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an enterprise‑wide talent development strategy.
• Establish clear career pathways and progression frameworks for internal mobility.
• Lead succession planning and interventions for high‑potential and mission‑critical roles.
• Create onboarding and induction experiences for rapid integration and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Partner with leaders to support retention across UKFE and STEP.
