Job summary

CBSbutler seeks an experienced Product Development Test Engineer to support V&V activities for complex, integrated machines, combining electromechanical hardware, firmware, control systems and software. The role emphasizes design of V&V activities in a rigorous product development environment and requires strong documentation and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will design test plans, protocols and reports, lead protocol reviews, and maintain traceability throughout the V&V process

Qualifications

• Experience designing V&V activities within a product development environment.
• Ability to design test plans and detailed test protocols, including test cases and methods.
• Strong documentation, planning and reporting skills with traceability.

Responsibilities

• Design V&V activities for complex, integrated machines.
• Create test plans and detailed test protocols, including test cases and methods.
• Support test execution, documentation and anomaly management.
• Produce clear technical reports and test documentation.
• Develop templates for test documentation and reporting.
• Lead reviews of test protocols with wider engineering teams.
• Maintain clear documentation and traceability throughout the V&V process.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Use initiative and continuously develop technical knowledge to solve problems.
• Proven experience designing V&V activities within a product development environment.
• Experience testing complex, integrated machines/products.
• Experience spanning electromechanical hardware, firmware, control systems and software.
• Strong understanding of test planning, protocols, test cases and test methods.
• Excellent documentation, planning and reporting skills, particularly where traceability is critical.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with wider engineering teams and lead protocol reviews.
• Experience working within a New Product Development (NPD) environment.
• Ability to work independently, use initiative and continuously develop technical knowledge.
• Experience, understanding or interest in physics, biology or fluid mechanics.
• Experience within a highly regulated or technically complex product environment.
• Experience working with medical, laboratory, scientific or other complex instrumentation.
