Job summary

The University of the Built Environment is seeking a Student Information and Advice Manager to oversee a high‑quality information and guidance service for undergraduates, postgraduates and apprentices. You will lead a seven‑strong Student Advice team, balance performance management with staff development, and drive cross‑functional improvements.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Student Support, using data to shape service delivery, while ensuring alignment with information and guidance

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English language Grade C or 4 or above (E, A).
• Team leadership or management qualification at level 3 or above (D, A).
• Qualification in information advice and guidance (IAG), coaching, counselling, or other client support discipline at level 2 or above (D, A).

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and line-manage a team of seven Student Advice officers across phones, email, and online platforms.
• Set and review performance targets and SLAs for the team and individuals.
• Identify friction points and drive service improvements with cross-functional colleagues.
• Develop and maintain a knowledge base and drive proactive service development.
• deputise for Head of Student Support and act as a link between Student Advice and Student Community teams.
