Job summary

Zodiac Recruitment Ltd is helping a Leicester engineering consultancy recruit a Structural Design Engineer on a permanent basis. The role focuses on hands-on design, drawings, calculations and risk assessments across commercial, leisure, manufacturing and education sectors.

You will engage with clients, local authorities and the design team, visiting sites as needed and managing your workload in a collaborative environment. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in structural engineering.
• At least 3 years' experience as a structural engineer.
• Chartered or nearing Chartership (MICE or IStructE) is preferred.
• Experience in a consulting environment and model creation.
• Experience detailing steel and concrete structures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check drawings, calculations and risk assessments.
• Hands-on design across multiple materials and client liaison.
• Site visits and workload management while working in a team and independently.
• Represent the company at meetings with clients and authorities.
