Job summary

Zodiac Recruitment in London is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead the structural design and analysis across multiple sectors, delivering high-quality solutions and technically owning complex designs. The role requires a Chartered Engineer or active path to chartership, strong UK Eurocode knowledge, and proficiency with Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, or ETABS.

You will mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery on projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership.
• Strong experience in structural design within a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in Eurocodes and UK design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of projects using steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
• Prepare and review detailed calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Manage and coordinate design activities within multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and efficient delivery.
• Ensure designs comply with UK standards, Eurocodes, and project-specific requirements.
• Undertake design checks and peer reviews, including oversight of subcontractor and third-party designs.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership on projects from concept through to construction.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
• Contribute to innovation, value engineering, and sustainable design approaches.
