Job summary

Delta Capita in London is seeking a SQL Developer to design performant SQL assets, data models, and reliable queries within a governed delivery framework. You will collaborate with analysts, product, and engineering to ensure quality and scalability.

The role covers SQL engineering, data design, ETL/ELT pipelines, version control with Git, and CI/CD for database changes. A fixed-term contract with hybrid working, and UK working permit is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL development experience (T‑SQL, PL/SQL) with performance tuning.
• Strong data modelling knowledge (star/snowflake schemas, indexing).
• Experience in structured consulting or delivery environments with clear processes.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and Git-based database change management.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise SQL objects including tables, views, procedures, functions, and ETL/ELT logic.
• Develop logical and physical data models and maintain ERDs and data dictionaries.
• Tune SQL performance (indexing, partitioning, query optimisation).
• Collaborate with platform/DevOps teams on capacity management, monitoring, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Contribute to ETL/ELT pipelines and environment promotion using standardised patterns.
• Use version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows for database changes.
• Support UAT, investigate defects, and resolve logic issues quickly.
• Document processes, conduct peer reviews, and participate in Agile ceremonies.
