Job summary

GSK is seeking a Solution Architect to provide architecture and design assurance for major initiatives across platforms. You will craft end-to-end designs, embed reliability and observability from day one, and specify where AI adds value.

You will balance business outcomes with cost and risk while guiding across platform domains and suppliers. The role requires broad multi-domain expertise, Azure/GCP experience, and a focus on secure, compliant, scalable solutions within a hybrid work setup in

Qualifications

• Degree in technology or engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Experience producing solution designs for major initiatives
• Breadth across more than one technology domain
• Hands-on experience designing across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS on Azure and/or GCP
• Experience collaborating with business domain architects
• Experience running architecture reviews or design assurance
• Track record designing for reliability, resilience and observability
• Experience designing secure and compliant solutions
• Experience assuring supplier or SI designs to internal standards
• Awareness of AI patterns and value of AI in design
• Understanding modern engineering workflows including CI/CD and IaC

Responsibilities

• Produce solution designs for major initiatives aligned to enterprise standards
• Build reliability, resilience and observability into designs from the outset
• Design AI-enabled solutions that genuinely accelerate delivery or operations
• Provide design assurance and architecture reviews for initiatives led by others
• Balance business outcomes, cost, risk and technical fit in designs
• Work across platform domains to ensure end-to-end coherence
• Assure architecture of supplier and managed-service solutions to internal standards
• Uphold architecture governance and manage exceptions through Enterprise Architecture
• Ensure designs meet security and compliance requirements including GxP
• Advise on architectural risk and technical debt
• Coordinate with Platform and Enterprise Architects and engineering teams
