Job summary

GSK is seeking a Solution Architect to provide architecture and design assurance for major initiatives. The role ensures designs align with platform standards, target architecture and end‑to‑end coherence while building reliability and observability from the start.

AI-enabled solutions should add real value and be justified. The candidate will have broad tech experience across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS on Azure and/or GCP, with focus on security, compliance and enterprise alignment.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technology or engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems).
• Breadth across more than one technology domain to design and assure end‑to‑end solutions.

Responsibilities

• Produce solution designs for major initiatives aligned to reference architectures and standards.
• Build reliability, resilience and observability into designs from the outset.
• Design AI-enabled solutions where AI accelerates delivery or operations with clear justification.
• Provide design assurance and architecture review for initiatives led by others, and specify what would pass.
• Balance business outcomes, cost, risk and technical fit in every design.
• Work across platform domains to ensure end-to-end solutions are coherent and avoid conflicts.
• Assure architecture of supplier and managed-service solutions to the same standard as internal designs.
• Uphold architecture standards and governance, routing exceptions through Enterprise Architecture.
• Ensure designs meet security and compliance requirements, including GxP where applicable.
• Reduce rework by engaging early in initiative shaping.
• Advise on architectural risk and the consequences of technical debt.
• Coordinate with Platform and Enterprise Architects on standards and strategy.
