Reed seeks a Senior Accountant in Lancaster for a hybrid role (2 days in the office). The position offers a salary up to £50,000 plus benefits.

The candidate will manage a varied portfolio including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, delivering accounts prep and tax work while advising clients on financial strategy. The role involves client relationship management, technical accounting, and providing proactive advisory to help clients improve their financial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong general practice experience.
• Experience managing portfolios of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Excellent client management and advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact.
• Preparing statutory financial statements and management accounts.
• Completing corporate, personal and VAT tax returns.
• Managing bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and accurate financial records.
• Supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes.
• Advising clients on tax planning, salaries, dividends and financial strategy.
• Providing guidance around cash flow, budgeting and forecasting.
• Helping clients improve their financial systems, processes and controls.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory and business support services.
• Keeping clients informed of relevant legislative and industry developments.
