Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Bristol is seeking a Safety & Reliability Engineer to support critical programme milestones and ensure the safety and reliability of our defence-oriented products. The role involves applying Hazard Analysis, FTA, FMECA, and quantitative risk assessment with cross-functional teams.

You will collaborate with Life Cycle Engineering and Design Engineering, capture rejection causes, and use statistics to assess reliability.

Qualifications

Hold a degree in a STEM subject or have relevant engineering experience.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with ability to work with uncertainty analysis.
Experience applying safety and reliability processes in engineering contexts.
Knowledge of gas turbine engines or similar propulsion systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Apply Safety & Reliability processes such as Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and Quantitative Risk Assessment.
Collaborate with Life Cycle Engineering and Design Engineering functions to support milestones.
Capture and numerically assess system rejection causes for operational availability and cost insights.
Use statistical methods to assess system reliability and identify potential risks.
Influence design decisions by evaluating failures and their impact on safety and reliability.
