Job summary

SJC Partners are recruiting a Post Completion Assistant to join their Residential Property team in Birmingham. You will manage post-completion work on conveyancing files, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time from completion through to registration and file closure.

The role suits someone who enjoys detailed admin work, keeping files organised and progressing efficiently, with hybrid working and opportunities to develop within an established law firm.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work both independently and with colleagues.
• Experience in post-completion or residential conveyancing is advantageous and familiarity with Land Registry portal and SDLT service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit SDLT and Welsh LTT returns within statutory deadlines.
• Submit Land Registry applications and respond to requisitions.
• Arrange mortgage redemptions and chase confirmation of discharge.
• Serve notices on landlords and management companies.
• Check completed registrations and send documents to clients and lenders.
• Help fee earners discharge undertakings and maintain accurate records.
• Update the case management system and close completed files.
• Provide administrative support to the conveyancing team.
