Job summary

Basildon Council is seeking a dynamic Repairs Administrator to join the Housing Repairs team in Basildon. You will handle repair requests, manage inquiries and complaints, and provide scheduling support to ensure timely repairs for council tenants and leaseholders.

The role requires strong administrative skills, experience in housing or repairs, and excellent communication. This is a hybrid role with three office days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing, repairs, property services, or a customer service setting.
• Strong organizational and data entry skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with IT, databases, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with housing disrepair cases.
• Experience supporting schedulers or repairs teams.

Responsibilities

• Handle repair requests, inquiries, and complaints via phone, email, and in person.
• Provide administrative support to Housing Repairs service.
• Keep records in housing and repairs systems.
• Assist in scheduling operatives and daily repairs administration.
• Process rechargeable repair orders and paperwork.
• Investigate housing disrepair claims and customer complaints.
• Provide updates to tenants, leaseholders, colleagues and contractors.
• Ensure tasks meet service standards and timelines.
• Assist in performance monitoring and reporting.
• Deliver professional and customer-focused service.
