Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support a £50m+ project within the Strategic Pipeline Alliance. The role focuses on cost management, procurement, and commercial governance across inception to close-out.

You will work within an integrated delivery team, providing commercial challenge, managing subcontracts, and reporting live cost data to maximise value and minimise risk. Hybrid working from Peterborough is available.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in construction or commercial management.
• Professional qualification e.g. RIC, CIOB, ICE.
• Thorough understanding of NEC3 forms of contract.
• Experience in a complex matrix team environment.
• Understanding of construction and contract law.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist estimating to provide robust estimates aligned to scope with risk allowances.
• Provide commercial support to delivery management and on-site teams.
• Ensure subcontracts reflect scope and are managed per contract requirements.
• Develop and monitor procurement strategy with core stakeholders.
• Engage with site teams to manage allowances and drive outperformance.
• Forecast live costs and report against cost breakdown structures.
• Monitor costs against baseline and report variances with resolutions.
• Ensure records (GRNs) are maintained per client and partner requirements.
• Clarify contractual arrangements to project team and stakeholders.
