Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the Asset Management team. You will manage cost control, estimates and valuations across multiple projects, ensuring value for money while maintaining quality and programme.

The role requires strong commercial acumen, ability to work with contractors and consultants, and a proactive, organised approach to delivery. Hybrid working arrangements are in place.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost management for construction and refurbishment projects.
• Strong commercial and financial management skills including forecasting.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Experience administering construction contracts and evaluating tenders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, tender documents and budgets for projects.
• Monitor and control costs across multiple projects within the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure value for money.
• Identify risks and opportunities and assist in achieving best value.
