Job summary

EC Recruitment Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor for its City of London office. You will manage cost control across sectors including commercial, education, hotels, healthcare and culture, with a large film studio project in the pipeline.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification or working towards chartership is expected.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement and cost management.
• Clear communication and report-writing skills.
• Confidence in dealing with clients and professional teams.
• Ability to manage several projects accurately and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare budget estimates and detailed cost plans.
• Produce bills of quantities and tender documentation.
• Advise on procurement routes and evaluate tenders.
• Undertake interim valuations and cost reports.
• Manage variations and assess contractor claims.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Present advice and project updates to clients.
• Coordinate with project teams to manage costs and risks.
• Senior level: lead instructions and mentor less experienced colleagues.
