Job summary

SF Partners in Newark is seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our finance team on a fixed-term contract of about 9 months. The role covers ownership of multiple site ledgers and the end-to-end purchase-to-payment process.

You will process invoices using Sage 50, manage supplier accounts, run payments and reconciliations, and support month-end activities. The role is hybrid, with 2 days in the office, and offers a varied, fast-paced workload across UK sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy purchase ledger/accounts payable role.
• Confident using Sage 50 or similar accounting software.
• Understanding of the full purchase ledger process (POs, invoices, reconciliations).
• Ability to manage multiple ledgers across sites and prioritise workload.
• Strong organisational skills and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of purchase invoices using Sage 50.
• Take ownership of a portfolio of UK sites, from PO to payment.
• Manage supplier accounts, review aged creditor reports, and resolve queries.
• Prepare and raise payment runs mid-month and at month-end.
• Complete bank reconciliations and monitor company accounts.
• Work with Site Managers to confirm goods receipt and maintain PO system.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and handle supplier queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end/year-end activities.
• Support wider finance team with reporting, reconciliations and general accounts admin.
