Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant for a Reigate-based role within an established construction consultancy. You will oversee cost management across a varied project portfolio and collaborate with clients, contractors and design teams.

The role offers hybrid working, a 37.5-hour week with flexible start times, and opportunities for ongoing professional development within a professional consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Quantity Surveying or Cost Consultancy experience.
• Strong commercial and numerical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage own workload and multiple project priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost and commercial advice across projects from feasibility through to final account.
• Prepare feasibility estimates, cost plans and budgets.
• Provide cost advice throughout project lifecycle.
• Prepare tender documentation and manage tender processes.
• Analyse contractor submissions and prepare tender reports.
• Support procurement and contractor appointments.
• Prepare valuations and assess applications for payment.
• Manage variations and change control.
• Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts.
• Monitor project expenditure against budgets.
• Assess and negotiate final accounts.
• Attend client and design team meetings.
• Work with architects, engineers, contractors and other consultants.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities during delivery.
