Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant for their Faversham office, working with an established construction consultancy.

You will provide cost and commercial advice across the project lifecycle, from feasibility through to final account, with a 37.5-hour week, hybrid working, and a salary of £35,000–£50,000 per annum.

A relevant degree is essential and you will collaborate with clients, contractors and design teams to deliver projects.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline is essential.
• Previous Quantity Surveying or Cost Consultancy experience is desirable.
• Experience with cost planning, tendering, valuations, variations and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Providing Quantity Surveying and cost consultancy services across a range of projects.
• Preparing feasibility estimates, cost plans and project budgets.
• Providing cost advice to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Preparing tender documentation and managing tender processes.
• Analysing contractor submissions and preparing tender reports.
• Supporting procurement and contractor appointments.
• Preparing valuations and assessing applications for payment.
• Managing variations and change control.
• Preparing regular cost reports and forecasts.
• Monitoring project expenditure against budgets.
• Assessing and negotiating final accounts.
• Attending client, design team and project meetings.

Education
