Job summary

University of Portsmouth is seeking a Project Manager to lead small-scale digital transformation and IT projects in Portsmouth. You will manage the full lifecycle, coordinate stakeholders in IT and business, and deliver realistic delivery plans to enable successful project outcomes.

This hybrid role requires 2 days remote work, a contract basis, and oversight of projects with budgets up to £500k. The role reports to senior management and involves continuous improvement of PM practices.

Qualifications

• Define and manage small projects with appropriate documentation.
• Define workstreams within large, high-risk programmes with cooperation from the Programme Manager/Principal PM responsible for the project.
• Collaborate with business departments and IS to identify resources, develop budgets, and create schedules.
• Manage the project budget of up to £500k.
• Accurately report progress to project managers, boards, and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to handover to business as usual.
• Coordinate multiple smaller IT projects with stakeholders from business and IT to deliver plans.
• Prepare and track a project delivery plan and escalate when required.
• Promote project management methodologies and support teams in applying the approach.
