Job summary

ScottishPower is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Engineering Project Management Team in Cambuslang. This permanent, full-time hybrid role offers a starting salary from £45,400 per year, with a competitive benefits package and clear career progression.

You will develop and coordinate engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed designs for transmission networks (132 kV and above) in civil/plant/P&C/OHL/Cables and other equipment, with input across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Working towards membership of a professional institution.
• Proven experience in delivering engineering solutions and designs for high value and complex Plant Engineering projects.
• Ability to communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to write clear and concise reports and documents covering technical subjects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate basic and detailed engineering specifications and designs for civils/main plant/P&C/OHL/Cables and other equipment.
• Assess engineering documentation, feasibility and compliance with SPT requirements; support budgets and outage programmes for civil/plant/P&C/OHL/Cables and other equipment.
• Define engineering requirements for input to System Construction Authorisation (SCA), Project Technical Specifications and BETTA documentation.
• Ensure designs, equipment and construction practices comply with current legislation, policies and requirements.
• Liaise across multidisciplinary engineering teams to provide end-to-end integrated solutions.
• Provide technical assessment on design, construction and operation areas on tender submissions; report recommendations to the project team.
• Tender assessment of engineering (including suppliers); support to project management on bid assessments.
• Prepare/review design drawings and procurement specifications.
• Promote health, safety, quality and environmental compliance and continuous improvement.
• Drive industry best practice and technological advances within the project team/department.
