Job summary

Harrods is seeking a Process Technologist to join our Food Development team in Knightsbridge. You will support the Product Development Manager to develop, manage and improve process controls across central production kitchens, scaling concepts into commercially viable products with Harrods quality.

Hybrid onsite/full-time working may apply. You will work with Product Development, Buying, Culinary, Technical, Quality and Production teams to ensure launches are accurate, timely and aligned with

Qualifications

• Experience within new product development and process management in a food manufacturing, food retail or central production kitchen environment.
• A qualification or degree in Professional Cookery, Culinary Arts, Food Science, Food Product Management or a related discipline, plus a Food Hygiene Certificate or Level 3 Food Safety.
• Strong knowledge of food production processes, menu and range development, food safety requirements, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Creating and maintaining accurate process specifications, recipes and build documentation for both new and existing products.
• Scaling recipes from development stage through to production kitchen readiness, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Collaborating with culinary, technical and production teams to develop and uphold product quality standards and specifications.
• Monitoring yields, wastage and process performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and greater efficiency.
• Producing production-ready recipes, supporting documentation and standard operating procedures to enable successful product launches and manufacturing handovers.
