Job summary

Willmott Dixon in the UK is seeking a Preconstruction Project Manager for the North East region. The role is hybrid, based in Gateshead with home working options, reporting to the Preconstruction Manager.

You will lead two-stage/negotiated tenders, coordinating internal and external resources to deliver bids on time and to high quality while aligning with customer expectations. You will manage projects from £10m to £100m across Education, Leisure, Health, Blue Light, Transport and Commercial

Qualifications

• Experience in managing diverse technical input and leading the bid process.
• Background in construction/technical roles such as Operations, Planning, Commercial, Design or Estimating.
• Ability to understand customer challenges and deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Motivating and leading a bid team that includes internal estimators, design professionals, MEP professionals and planners, plus external supply chain and consultants.
• Collaborating with the team to develop the commercial strategy for bids.
• Managing customer expectations through health checks and maintaining strong relationships.
• Developing project strategies to achieve sustainability objectives.
• Monitoring progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensuring ongoing professional development and driving continuous improvement.
• Maintaining a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations with a 'one team' mindset.
• Coordinating inception workshops with customers and extracting critical insights to strengthen bids.
