Job summary

National Gas is seeking a Planning & Controls Officer to coordinate the planning and scheduling of maintenance, operational, and asset activities across our gas transmission network. You will ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and at the right time to maintain infrastructure availability and reliability.

This hybrid role requires travel within the West region and will involve collaboration with Operations, Asset Management, and Construction teams to optimise planning processes and

Qualifications

• Experience in work scheduling, planning, outage planning, or resource coordination.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships across teams and functions.
• Experience using computer-based planning tools and scheduling systems.
• Knowledge of work scheduling principles and outage planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead work scheduling activities to support the efficient delivery of maintenance, defect, breakdown, and project work.
• Coordinate resources and workloads to maximise asset availability and operational performance.
• Develop and maintain achievable project delivery plans with Portfolio Planning and operational teams.
• Manage changes to plans and ensure replanning is completed efficiently.
• Collaborate with Operations, Construction, and Asset Management to resolve planning conflicts and priorities.
• Ensure planning decisions are recorded and justified clearly.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support post-work reviews.
