Job summary

VIA MATCH LIMITED in Leeds (Hybrid) is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join the busy Payroll and Finance function, with exposure to multi-site UK payroll operations.

You will report to the UK Payroll Manager, process weekly and monthly payrolls, maintain records, handle starters and leavers, and ensure HMRC compliance so employees are paid accurately and on time. Start date: 1 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll administration or processing.
• Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good Excel and data-handling skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Experience with Sage 50 Payroll desirable.
• Experience with time and attendance systems beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with weekly and monthly payroll processing.
• Validate payroll data ahead of payment runs.
• Maintain employee payroll records and spreadsheets.
• Process new starters, leavers, and changes.
• Produce and issue P45 documentation.
• Update tax codes, student loan deductions, and HMRC changes.
• Support PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory submissions.
• Reconcile payroll reports for funding.
• Assist with auto-enrolment and pension administration.
• Prepare pension reports and submissions.
• Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP).
• Handle payroll queries.
• Assist with payroll variations.
• Ensure payroll processes remain compliant with HMRC.
