Allen Associates (Oxford) Ltd is hiring a Payroll Officer on a 6-month FTC in Oxford. You will manage monthly UK payroll for 500+ staff and support payroll across regions, working with an outsourced provider and handling employee inquiries.

The role offers hybrid working with two office days per week and a competitive package including private healthcare, a discretionary bonus, and a structured pension. Strong Excel skills and UK payroll knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised payroll qualification is essential.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience advising employees on tax, pension and NI.
• Understanding HR processes affecting payroll.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for 500+ UK employees and several European staff.
• Coordinate with outsourced payroll provider and give clear instructions.
• Answer payroll enquiries on payslips, pensions, tax and NI.
• Manage employee lifecycle events: starters, salary changes, promotions.
• Maintain payroll data and produce reporting for decision-making.
• Support HR tasks and contribute to process improvements.
