Job summary

The Portfolio Group is recruiting a Payroll Administrator to support a major system migration from iTrent to Oracle, processing payroll for around 5,000 staff across three monthly runs. The role requires strong data analysis, MS Excel skills and experience with public sector pension schemes such as LGPS and Teachers’ Pensions.

You will operate in a hybrid setup, with one day on-site per week and up to two days when fully integrated, and will handle absence and statutory payments, as well as

Qualifications

• CIPP or equivalent payroll qualification or demonstrated capability via hands-on experience.
• Strong Excel/data analysis skills across MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-volume BAU payroll processing for ~5,000 staff across multiple monthly cycles.
• Support system migration from iTrent to Oracle during transition period.
• Administer LGPS and Teachers’ Pensions schemes.
• Resolve complex payroll and pension queries efficiently to support staff wellbeing.
• Manage end-to-end payroll workflow: starters, leavers, changes, absences, holidays, overtime, adjustments.
• Maintain robust audit trails and detailed logs of payroll activities during migration.
