Job summary

Portfolio Payroll Limited seeks a Payroll Officer to collate time and attendance data and ensure complete timecards for payroll processing. You will investigate non-attendance issues before submitting records to partners for payment processing.

The role focuses on on-site payroll for blue-collar staff with a Kronos and iTrend system footprint, operating in a 6-month FTC with a hybrid work pattern (3 days on-site, 2 days WFH).

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or demonstrated capability via assessment/interview.
• Solid IT skills across MS Office Suite, including excellent Excel skills and data analysis ability.
• Experience in payroll departments handling multiple payrolls and pay types, within recruitment or high-volume timesheets.
• Desirable experience in Engineering Construction or complex National Agreements (NAECI, JIB).
• Clear and confident communication via email, telephone and in-person.

Responsibilities

• Act as the on-site payroll focal point for blue-collar personnel up to Superintendent level.
• Utilise the Kronos Time and Attendance system for payroll processing.
• Coordinate payroll activity using Kronos in line with approved procedures.
• Resolve pay queries efficiently to support industrial relations and employee wellbeing.
• Maintain a detailed log of personnel queries and resolutions.
• Process lodge and travel entitlements and monthly lodge payments in Kronos.
• Input and process time and attendance data from supervisors and matrix reporting structures.
• Handle manual timesheets for missed clocks, training, off-site work, and overtime.
• Investigate and resolve timesheet errors using a structured escalation path.
