Job summary

Cintra HR & Payroll Services in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join the Outsourced Payroll team. You will own payrolls end-to-end for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, timely submissions, and compliant processes.

The role requires at least 1 year of payroll experience, a solid understanding of HMRC rules, and strong numeracy. You will collaborate with colleagues, build relationships with clients, and develop payroll expertise in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of end-to-end payroll experience.
• Good understanding of HMRC legislation, statutory payments, and pension rules.
• Strong numeracy and a high level of attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and Outlook.
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication.
• Calm under deadline pressure; able to manage workload independently.

Responsibilities

• Process a portfolio of client payrolls end to end within agreed timeframes, accurately, methodically, and to schedule.
• Produce employee documents and submit RTI and pension files on behalf of clients.
• Process HMRC and third party payments and create statutory payment schedules.
• Carry out manual calculations covering starters and leavers, tax and NI, student loans, pensions, apprenticeship levy, employment allowance, and Small ER relief.
• Use imports for efficient data processing, building your technical toolkit as you go.
• Liaise directly with clients and HMRC, communicating clearly, professionally, and proactively.
