Job summary

Travelers Europe is seeking a Development Underwriter to drive new business development and broker relationships in the South of England. The role involves managing submissions, quotes and binds with a focus on profitability and growth, while leveraging underwriting knowledge to negotiate terms and expand lines of business.

The position supports a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote, and requires effective collaboration with sales, risk, and broker partners

Qualifications

• Ability to manage and grow an assigned book of business.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth and retention of assigned accounts.
• Underwrite and negotiate moderate risks to maximise profitability.
• Proactively manage portfolio and target new business and retention.
• Identify and address risk characteristics in collaboration with manager.
• Develop and execute pipeline plans to support renewal team.
• Mentor less experienced underwriters and support junior team members.
