Job summary

University of Strathclyde in Glasgow is seeking a Network Engineer to deploy, manage and maintain the university's enterprise network infrastructure. You will work with cabling, switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, NTP and related services, in a hybrid setup with 2 days remote.

The role requires collaboration across IS Infrastructure, Estates and other IT teams, and a focus on security and automation using Python, Ansible, or APIs where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing, deploying and maintaining enterprise-class network infrastructure.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networks, routing, switching and firewall architectures.
• Familiarity with network security principles and enterprise security design.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including cabling, switches, routers and firewalls.
• Ensure reliable DNS, DHCP and NTP services and IP addressing.
• Collaborate with IS Infrastructure, Estates and IT support teams to deliver secure network services.
