Job summary

VIQU IT Recruitment partners with a large public sector organisation to recruit a Network Engineer in Warwickshire. The role offers hybrid working (2-3 days on-site) and ownership of network operations within a complex infrastructure.

You will configure and optimise Cisco environments, support SD-WAN and cloud networking, and ensure security and compliance. Eligible candidates must pass enhanced security vetting; on-call payments apply.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on Cisco networking experience.
• Experience in large, complex IT environments.
• Strong knowledge of SD-WAN, VLANs and routing.
• Experience with cloud networking (Azure/AWS).
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools (SolarWinds).
• Familiarity with ITSM and ISO 20000 principles.
• Ability to own technical tasks and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Eligible and willing to undergo enhanced security vetting.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and improve physical and virtual network infrastructure.
• Configure, troubleshoot and optimise Cisco networking environments.
• Contribute to network design, implementation and technical documentation.
• Support SD-WAN, VLANs, routing and cloud networking technologies.
• Monitor network performance, security and service availability.
• Analyse business requirements and recommend technical solutions.
• Identify infrastructure risks and implement mitigations.
• Work with technical architects, internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Ensure networking solutions meet relevant compliance and service standards.
• Drive continuous improvement across network infrastructure.
