Job summary

Hays Construction and Property is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver mechanical building services designs from concept to completion.

You will work with CAD technicians in a collaborative team, producing designs, calculations and drawings across commercial, industrial, education and healthcare sectors. Hybrid working is available, with progression from intermediate to senior levels on offer.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and mechanical systems.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical building services designs, calculations, specs and drawings.
• Lead or support mechanical design packages across projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams, CAD specialists and external consultants.
• Attend site surveys, inspections and design meetings.
• Ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations and client expectations.
• Manage own workload while supporting wider team delivery.
