Job summary

Hays Building Services is recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure and engineering organisation for a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer based in Birmingham. The role focuses on coordinating mechanical design across complex assets, reviewing designs from consultants and suppliers, and promoting safe-by-design principles within multidisciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services, be a Chartered Engineer or working

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or a desire to work towards professional accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating the design and engineering activities for a range of building services and infrastructure assets.
• Reviewing designs produced by consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project standards and specifications.
• Promoting safe-by-design principles and supporting technical assurance processes.
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical queries and support design approvals.
• Providing technical input to procurement, construction and delivery teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
• Supporting the Design Manager in the safe and efficient delivery of engineering packages throughout the project lifecycle.
