Job summary

Colby River Property Management in Altrincham is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to lead monthly management accounts for a portfolio of properties. You will partner with operations to understand performance, drive cost control and provide insights to support commercial decisions.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the role offers exposure across the business and a chance to shape financial reporting, systems and processes. Hybrid work applies with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified, CIMA/ACCA part-qualified, fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or qualified by experience.
• Experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant, ideally in property management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts across multiple sites with P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and commentary.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
• Support annual budgets and regular forecasting.
• Collaborate with operational and on-site teams to compare performance against budget.
• Identify variances, risks and opportunities and advise actions.
• Maintain strong financial controls and governance.
• Support year-end audit, statutory accounts and internal reviews.
• Translate financial information into clear, useful insight for non-finance colleagues.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis to support senior management decisions.
• Help improve financial reporting, systems and processes.
