Job summary

Scanlans Property Management LLP is seeking a Client Accountant to manage our residential block accounting in a hybrid Manchester role. You will partner with property managers to deliver accurate service charge accounting, reconciliations and year-end support.

You will escalate complex queries to auditors as needed and help maintain budgets, cash flow, and client statements for a diverse portfolio. Collaboration and proactive communication are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Experience in client or property accounting, ideally within residential block management.
• Familiarity with service charge accounting, audits and year-end processes.
• Confidence using accounting/property management systems and Excel for reconciliations and analysis.
• Working with auditors, external stakeholders and multi-site portfolios.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end service charge accounting cycle for allocated portfolio, including reconciliations and accruals.
• Produce draft service charge year-end accounts and audit packs.
• Partner with property managers to build and review annual budgets and expenditure forecasts.
• Monitor cashflow, process supplier payments, allocate receipts and maintain ledgers.
• Investigate and resolve accounting queries from clients, leaseholders, auditors and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate controls and compliance with internal policies and client agreements.
