Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is recruiting a Client Manager for our UK/EU territory. The role is hybrid with onsite work two days per week in High Peak, and occasional travel to conferences and events.

You will nurture existing client relationships while expanding the customer base, using your scientific background to tailor solutions and pricing strategies. You will draft proposals, qualify bids, coordinate with Legal, and manage the SalesForce pipeline to drive opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a BSc within a Life Sciences discipline; MSc/PhD preferred.
• Proven experience in pharmaceutical/biosciences industry; sales exposure desirable.
• Strong understanding of drug discovery processes and ability to discuss scientific data with clients.
• Some sales experience; training provided.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across channels.
• Ability to work flexibly in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft proposals and statements of work (SOWs) with clients.
• Qualify bids and scopes of work to ensure appropriate service.
• Coordinate with Legal to ensure documents are in place.
• Maintain pipeline data in Salesforce and manage client relationships.
• Present external technical information and respond to client queries about platforms.
• Identify new business opportunities and support pricing and proposals.
• Support site visits and conferences; travel as required.
